The Argentine Chorizo ​​is the main ingredient g in one of the most emblematic dishes of Argentina: The Choripan!


For this delicious meal you need to grill the chorizo ​​and then place it inside a baguette or hot dog bun and garnish it with Chimichurri. It should be noted that, in Argentina, the most common way to call it is "chori".


 


What ingredients do you need?


If you only want to prepare Choripanes, you will need 1 to 2 chorizos for each guest. If you want to make a Choripan snacks; 1 Argentine Chorizo ​​per person will be more than enough to calm their hunger while waiting for the main course.


Along with tthe Chorizos you will need baguette bread (one for each chorizo) and Chimichurri sauce.


So that you can have an rough idea, 2 or 3 tablespoons of "chimi" are usually used on each choripán. Although this depends on the preferences of each guest.


Argentinian Chimichurri sauce


To prepare the Chimichurri sauce which cannot be missing in a "choripaneada", you need the following ingredients:

  • 8 cloves of garlic, finely chopped.

  • 1 cup of chopped green onion.

  • 1 cup of finely chopped parsley.

  • 4 tablespoons of vinegar.

  • 4 tablespoons finely chopped fresh oregano.

  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.

  • 2 small peppers finely chopped.

  • 1 cup of oil.

  • Salt and pepper.


Preparation



Choripan


First, start by poking the Chorizos, and then place them on a hot grill until they are fully cooked and browned. Some people cut Argentine chorizos in half, while others prefer to leave them whole.


Once they are almost done, cut the baguettes in half and leave them on the grill, until they are lightly browned.


Now you just need to add the amount of chimichurri sauce you want inside the bread and then add the Chorizo. Some people also add avocado or onions.


In case you want to serve this dish in smaller bites, you can cut both the chorizo ​​and the bread into smaller pieces.



Chimichurri


Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them. You can make this sauce beforehand and keep it in the refrigerator until you need it.
